The clustered themes of her supervision deal with the topic of emotion-cognition interactions, particularly in terms of the dynamics between mindfulness and self-control.

Research Experiences

Although psychological research in Indonesia are mostly conducted using traditional self-report survey-based paper-and-pencil, Dr. Yusainy has consistently reintroduced controlled laboratory experiments and incorporated standardized behavioural software into her work. She has also promoted interdepartmental and inter-universities collaborations, and the importance of using global research platform such as Open Science Framework and Project Implicit for Indonesian researchers. Her collaborators include psychological scientists and other social scientists, as well as public and private sectors. One of her projects with 22 international research groups was on self-control ego-depletion funded by the Association for Psychological Science and Center for Open Science (published in Perspectives on Psychological Science, 2016). For broader coverage and impact, she recently published a practical book on Experimental Psychology (2016; in Indonesian language).
